About Our School Overview About Our School

Welcome to Saint Norbert School, a 2015 National Blue Ribon School. As a product of Catholic education and a Catholic school educator for 37 years, I believe St. Norbert is where you would want your child to be to benefit from a strong Catholic education rooted in faith, academics and service. Our school is a faith-based community dedicated to the education of all students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in a safe, Christ-centered atmosphere. Our students Catholic identity is formed daily through religion class, morning prayers, First Friday mass, weekly Adoration, Penance services, Stations of the Cross, and May Procession. The faculty and staff, aside from being teachers, act as role models to the students, as people they can look up to in following the footsteps of Christ.

The challenging academic curriculum is rigorous, relevant, and utilizes various methods of instruction and assessment that is rooted in Catholicism. Technology is an important part of our curriculum and we are committed to utilizing it to enhance the learning process. We have been a leading school in the diocese for implementing up to date technology into our classrooms. Our upper school’s curriculum (Grades 5-8) is enhanced through 1:1 computing with the use of iPads daily in the classroom and at home. Each classroom in our lower school has an iPad cart in their classrooms to boost the curriculum and aid in student development.

Our Terra Nova testing scores are above the local, diocese and national scores. Last year our 8th graders have earned over $450,000 in scholarships to archdiocesan and private high schools. This is a testament to our dedicated faculty who strive to make students work to their full academic potential daily, but also evidence that our students, as well as their parents, put great value into their academic pursuits.

Inquiry, exploration and risk-taking create a learning environment which empowers our students to take an active part in the learning process. To complement our strong academic classes of English language arts, math, science, social studies and religion, the students participate weekly in Spanish, art, music, physical education, technology, and library classes. We recognize the need to prepare the students for the challenges of the 21st century and so we will provide an atmosphere which will encourage them to become life-long learners and to strive to work cooperatively in a multicultural, ever-changing society.
